Get a load of what just happened to Dwight Howard on an NBA basketball court.

On today’s episode of “This Could Only Ever Happen to Dwight Howard,” watch the Philadelphia 76ers center get called for a technical foul after his shorts ripped.

The journeyman future Basketball Hall of Famer got caught up with Detroit Pistons rookie Isaiah Stewart down on the block contesting a rebound. With Howard in better rebounding position, Stewart decided to treat Howard’s shorts like an old Earl Campbell Houston Oilers tearaway jersey. Even with garb in hand, it was Howard who was called for the foul. . .and the technical!

This is the most Dwight Howard thing to ever happened to Dwight Howard

Howard may be an NBA champion now, but he is already on another team again. Sooner or later, he will catch and surpass Jim Jackson on the amount of uniforms he has collected over the years. But in the meantime, we may have just witnessed the wackiest thing to ever happen to him on the hardwood. He may have had a point to be upset, but it is so unbelievably hilarious it happened.

The last time we saw something this strange happen on an NBA court, Kyrie Irving was burning sage at TD Garden. Though the first quarter of the season will be defined by an out-of-shape James Harden forcing his way out of Houston, clearly, everybody has a problem with his former Rockets teammate, even the refs! Take that piece of shorts and send it to Springfield.

I want to use a basketball analogy to describe what happened, but I cannot stop laughing to think.
