Folks across the United States continue to be rocked by the tragic death of Daunte Wright, as the young man was killed by police in Minnesota. This news most definitely broke plenty of hearts in the NBA too, as Monday’s showdown between the Brooklyn Nets and Minnesota Timberwolves was postponed.

Well, the two sides are facing off on Tuesday. Leading up to the action, players on both teams were seen rocking shirts that read “with liberty and justice for all,” clearly showing support to Wright and his family.

Kevin Durant was among the stars to don the shirt, as you can see in the photo above. This isn’t the first time players in the NBA have stepped up to voice their displeasure with police shootings and brutality, as contests have previously been postponed and rescheduled as well.

The hardwood standouts of course aren’t the only ones furious with the news, as protests have been ignited in Minnesota after police cam footage surfaced of the incident that ultimately took Wright’s life.

Those protests aren’t expected to stop anytime soon, with more taking place on Tuesday. As for the action on the court, the Nets entered Tuesday’s showdown with a 36-17 record, while 2020-21 has been a season to forget for Minnesota. The Timberwolves are 14-40 on the year and have been hit with multiple injury issues.

Brooklyn figures to roll to a big win here. However, regardless of the result, Durant and the other guys making plays in this one wanted to make it clear they’re standing with Wright. That message has certainly been received.
