Draymond Green was not happy with Jordan Poole on Saturday as he tried to get Stephen Curry to 50 points.
The Golden State Warriors demolished the rebuilding Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday. The blowout was on early and Stephen Curry was chasing 50 points through the first three quarters. That meant assist-machine Draymond Green was trying to get his teammate to the feat so they could all rest in the fourth.
Curry ended up finishing with 49 points in his three quarters of action. A funny sequence took place late in the third quarter as Green grabbed a rebound and the Warriors brought the ball down with about 30 seconds remaining. Jordan Poole was the one who ended up launching a 3, and missing, while Curry sat with 49.
Green was not thrilled.
Draymond Green is all about helping his teammates thrive
Curry did end up getting one more shot, but it came from over 50 feet away from the basket. He missed and left the game with 49 points on 14-of-26 shooting from the floor. He also had another legendary performance from deep, going 11-for-21.
Green had himself a vintage night with 15 points and 13 assists in what ended up being a 136-97 victory.
Curry nearly hitting 50 points through three quarters once again proves his dominance. Not that he needs to prove anything to anyone at this point in his career.
Getting the win in general was the most important part of the night. The Warriors currently hold a half-game lead over the Memphis Grizzlies for the No. 8 seed in the West. A play-in tournament berth is set, but the Warriors want to at least be the No. 8 seed to get two chances for one win to ultimately advance.
Green being able to get mad about not getting Curry to 50 points means the Warriors had a great night. The duo having fun is something that will have Warriors fans feeling great as the play-in nears.
