LeBron James put his acting skills on display during the Lakers’ win over the Warriors in the play-in tournament and CJ McCollum let him have it for flopping around.
LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers got the last-minute win against Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors in the play-in tournament to secure the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference Playoffs.
With 2:07 left in the fourth quarter and the Lakers trailing 98-97, LeBron was fouled by Draymond Green, which some thought should have been a flagrant but was called a common foul.
Blazers guard CJ McCollum was watching like most NBA fans were on Wednesday night and thought LeBron was trying to sell it as best he could to convince the referees to rule it a flagrant.
That may be putting it lightly because McCollum posted on Twitter, LeBron is the “actor of the year.” for his flopping around like a fish out of water.
CJ McCollum had to call out LeBron James for flopping vs. the Warriors
McCollum did everything but call him “LeFlop.” but it’s not out of the ordinary for an NBA player to be a little overdramatic when fouled, especially in the closing minutes of a tight game with playoff seeding on the line.
LeBron did have the last laugh when he drained the game-winning 3-pointer with just under one minute left to get the Lakers past Curry and the Warriors.
In the post-game interview with Rachel Nichols, LeBron said he was seeing three after getting poked in the eye by Green so he aimed for the middle basket on his game-winner.
McCollum couldn’t stop laughing at that interview with LeBron really trying to sell how bad of a condition he was in.
With McCollum feeling this type of way about LeBron’s theatrics, we have to get a second round matchup between the Blazers and Lakers so the two can settle this on the court.
