Magic Johnson gives captain obvious assessment of Lakers and Rob Pelinka

Los Angeles Lakers, NBA Playoffs

Magic Johnson says GM Rob Pelinka and the Los Angeles Lakers have a lot of work to do this offseason because the team underperformed in the playoffs.

NBA fans, did you realize a lot of Los Angeles Lakers performed poorly in their playoff series against the Phoenix Suns? We sure didn’t. Thank you, Magic Johnson, for kindly pointing this out.

Leave it to the NBA Hall of Famer to come up with the most captain obvious take on the Lakers.

The Lakers went from winning the NBA Finals in October 2020 to getting knocked out in a first-round series that wasn’t all that close in the end. Of course they have work to do. When you employ LeBron James, Anthony Davis and multiple other players with NBA All-Star credentials and you can’t make it out of the first round, there’s going to be questions asked.

It probably doesn’t help that the King himself was making excuses for their lackluster playoff performance.

Magic Johnson says Lakers have work to do this offseason

For a guy who made a living delighting basketball fans around the world with his electric playing style, Magic is so literal on social media that it’s almost entertaining how boring he is.

The Lakers legend and former president of basketball operations frequently chimes in on Twitter with the opposite of hot takes. Reading through his comments on his former team will have one repeatedly saying “duh.”

Yes, Magic, the Lakers do indeed have work to do this summer if they want to add another title while LeBron is in town. We wish you good luck, Rob Pelinka.
