Watch: Ja Morant defied physics with this circus layup

Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant made an unreal layup during Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

It goes without saying that the Memphis Grizzlies have a star in Ja Morant. He showed that in his Rookie of the Year campaign, and throughout last season, where he helped the team clinch a playoff berth with a play-in round win over the Golden State Warriors. As it turns out, Morant can do even more to blow the minds of fans around the globe.

During Sunday night’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers, Morant drove to the basket with Anthony Davis and Kent Bazemore surrounding him.

That was not a problem for the guard, as he pulled off an incredible circus shot to put two points on the board.

Grizzlies: Ja Morant’s incredible circus shot vs. Lakers

We’ve seen enough. This is the best play of first week of the 2021-22 season. Sorry, but it is not even a contest.

The Grizzlies entered this Sunday with an undefeated record following wins over the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Clippers. In those contests, Morant averaged 32.5 points, 7.0 assists and four rebounds while shooting 56.3 percent from the field.

It is only the third game of the season, and Morant is already pulling out highlight-reel plays. If a Grizzlies game is on, you better watch it.
