Scottie Barnes left no doubt that he 100 percent is a rookie while failing miserably to execute the Toronto Raptors’ pregame introduction on Thursday night.
Though he might be the Toronto Raptors‘ No. 4 overall pick, Scottie Barnes doesn’t know how to exit the tunnel and get onto the hardwood properly.
With the defending NBA champions coming to town on Thursday night, all of Jurassic Park was amped up for this one vs. the Milwaukee Bucks. Clearly, Barnes was too excited for his own good. He came out of the corner faster than someone trying to evade a bull on July 7 over in Spain. The result was akin to The Raptor falling head over heels on the hardwood for all the world to see.
Though Barnes clearly french fried when he should have pizza-ed, Toronto got the win over visiting Milwaukee anyway, 97-93.
Watch Scottie Barnes totally embarrass himself running out of the tunnel
Barnes came to the Raptors organization with a ton of expectations. The Raptors have rarely been as bad as they were a year ago. Toronto used its No. 4 overall pick on the former Florida State standout. So far on the year, Barnes has averaged 15.3 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game in 35.6 minutes per contest. Toronto is a competitive 10-13 on the year through 23 games.
This impressive victory by the Raptors stopped a three-game losing skid, as well as gave Toronto its first win of a seven-game homestand. Though the Washington Wizards could be more than a handful on Sunday night, Toronto will have had two days off between Eastern Conference games. Toronto is now only 2.5 games back of the Boston Celtics for the final playoff spot in the East.
Barnes had 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists in 39 minutes after completely wiping out.
