Steve Kerr enters COVID protocols, out for Warriors-Grizzlies Game 4

Golden State Warriors, Memphis Grizzlies, NBA Playoffs

The Golden State Warriors will be without their head coach for Game 4 against the Memphis Grizzlies as Steve Kerr is entering into COVID-19 protocols.

Unfortunately for the Golden State Warriors, Steve Kerr won’t be available for Game 4 as they face off against the Memphis Grizzlies. According to a tweet from the Warriors’ public relations folks, it appears as if Kerr will miss the game due to COVID-19 protocols.

However, because Kerr is out, there’ll need to be someone to take over at head coach. Just because they’re the Warriors doesn’t mean Golden State won’t still need someone to guide this team.

So, that’s where Mike Brown comes in. According to the tweet, the Warriors will be led by Brown for Game 4 as Kerr is in “Health & Safety protocols.”

This is far from an ideal situation for Golden State, but the Warriors could certainly be in a worse position than they are now. Brown is experienced and familiar with Golden State as he has been with the Warriors since 2016.

Brown has previously served as a head coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers (on two different occasions) and the Los Angeles Lakers. In 2009, Brown was the NBA Coach of the Year.

Things could certainly be worse.
