Brooklyn Nets guard/forward/superfan Ben Simmons liked a tweet from Skip Bayless trashing his former team, the Philadelphia 76ers.

The 76ers had just lost to the Miami Heat in Game 6 on Thursday night, thus ending their season.

It’s not quite clear what Simmons has against Philly, minus the feelings most exes have about each other. Simmons failed to play in a single game for the 76ers this season, so they traded him elsewhere. Whether it be an injury or mental health issue, Simmons hasn’t fully opened up as to his issues getting back on the basketball court.

Despite being the primary piece heading back to Brooklyn in the James Harden trade, Simmons didn’t suit up for the Nets this year, either, taking a full season off in the process.

Ben Simmons takes subliminal shot at James Harden, 76ers

Simmons didn’t hide his feelings well enough, evidently, as he liked a tweet by FOX pundit Skip Bayless, who criticized Harden for his Game 6 performance.

Eventually? Simmons underwent back surgery this offseason, so hopefully he can finally make his Nets debut next season. It’s been a long time coming, especially considering the money he’s making.

As for Harden — the former league scoring champion took just two shots in the second half of Game 6, and missed both of them. It’s left many wondering if his best days are behind him, as the Heat targeted him in this series. Harden didn’t have much of an answer.

But isn’t a half-empty tank of James Harden better than…no help at all? For now, absolutely, as Simmons wasn’t comfortable playing in Philadelphia ever again. So, while Skip’s tweet makes sense in theory — as the Nets could very well someday win this trade — it’s not worth discussing given the simple fact Simmons never intended to play for the 76ers this season or in the coming years.

Yet, something tells me Bayless will find a way to discuss it.
