Sharpshooter Kelsey Plum hoisted her first WNBA championship this year and has been living her best life since.

Last week on TNT, Plum displayed her quick reflexes as she clapped back at Hall-of-Famer Charles Barkley on air. Barkley and Ernie Johnson Jr. host The Steam Room on TNT during the NBA season. During that segment, Barkley provides some guarantees for specific sports outcomes.

Unfortunately, the 11-time all-star went too far when he asked Plum if she wanted to guarantee a repeat on live television. Her response would send the media world into a frenzy as another athlete roasted Barkley about not winning a championship.

Charles Barkley has missed on some past guarantees

Some may recall greats like Michael Jordan, Muhammad Ali, Tim Tebow, and Alex Ovechkin making guarantees of some sort. However, no one has been bold enough to guarantee a repeat with the exception of Pat Riley.

Riley coached the Los Angeles Lakers and led them to their ninth championship in 1987 and promised the city of LA a repeat. Despite his crazy promise, the team did become the first NBA team to win back-to-back titles.

The Las Vegas guard is known for her grit and competitive spirit both on and off the court. Despite her comments, she still managed to crack a smile after clapping back at Chuck. She would then go on to explain how competitive the league is and that there are a lot of factors that have to swing in your favor for a team to repeat.

Plum is a key staple to Las Vegas on both ends of the floor and she complements A’ja Wilson. The 2022 All-Star MVP finished the season averaging 20 points, 5.1 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game while shooting 42 percent from 3.

She is set to be a free agent in 2023 but it’s clear that the Aces will try to re-sign her as they look to defend their title. The moral of the story is not to make any guarantees. Free agency is set to begin on Feb. 1 and the regular season will commence on May 19.
