The price on Cam Reddish has been changing which is great news for trade suitors like the Los Angeles Lakers.

It’s pretty clear that the Cam Reddish experience in New York is coming to a close. He hasn’t played for the Knicks in the last 19 games and both sides have been open about their desire to find a trade for him. The Knicks may have been hoping to get a first-round pick back to recoup the one they gave up to get him less than a year ago, but so far they haven’t had any takers.

According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Knicks have lowered their asking price for Reddish to a pair of second-round picks. That should be very exciting for the Lakers to hear, as they try to figure out how to add talent without giving up any future first-round picks or any current rotation pieces.

Could the Lakers actually get Cam Reddish in a trade?

Once the Lakers made the (presumed) decision not to trade Russell Westbrook, their major trade assets basically shrunk to Kendrick Nunn, Patrick Beverley and those first-rounders, which they also have reportedly been shy about giving up. Nunn isn’t going to fetch much on his own and if they can get a rotation piece without having to part with Beverley, it would be a huge win.

The Lakers don’t own their own second-round picks this year or next, but they have second-rounders incoming from the Bulls (2023) and either Memphis or Washington (2024) which could be offered for Reddish.

Reddish isn’t a game-changer on his own but he absolutely strengthens a rotation short on high-level wing depth. Although he hasn’t been able to stick in Atlanta or New York, Reddish has length and considerable defensive upside. He’s fairly underdeveloped as a shot creator and struggling with his jumper this season, but he made 41.9 percent of his catch-and-shoot 3s with the Knicks and Hawks last season.
